The Meadow Event Park  

The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County, Virginia, is rich in history. Located just minutes from Richmond and Fredericksburg, an easy drive from Hampton Roads/Virginia Beach and a straight shot from the D.C. area, Thoroughbred racing legend Secretariat was born here in 1970. Three years later he blazed his way into Triple Crown history. Today his birthplace is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register.

Directions

From I-95, take Exit 98 (Doswell) and travel 1½ miles east on state Route 30. The main entrance to The Meadow Event Park will be on your left. Take a left into Gate 3.

Alternate Routes:

  1. Take U.S. Route 301 to state Route 30; travel about 3 miles west on Route 30. The main entrance to The Meadow Event Park will be on your right. Make a right into Gate 3.
  2. Take U.S. Route 1 to state Route 30; travel about 2 miles east on Route 30. The main entrance to The Meadow Event Park will be on your left. Make a left into
    Gate 3.

Event Site Directions From Washington DC and East: Take I-66 West towards Front Royal, take Exit 23 US-17 North, and continue and turn left on US-50 West. Turn left onto US-340 South for 2 miles, turn left onto SR-658 White Post Road, and the site will be on the right.

From Hagerstown and North: Take I-81 South towards Roanoke, take Exit 313A US-50 East for 7 miles, turn right onto US-340 South for 2 miles, turn left onto SR-658 White Post Road, and the site will be on the right.

From Richmond and South: Take I-95 North towards Washington DC, take Exit 133 US-17 North, and continue and turn left on US-50 West. Turn left onto US[1]340 South for 2 miles, turn left onto SR-658 White Post Road, and the site will be on the right.

Heading to Warrenton from Rt. 29 South (follow sign to Culpeper NOT Warrenton Business) or Rt. 29 North and get off at Meetze Rd. exit.

Follow Meetze Rd. South approximately 2 miles to Green Rd.  Make a right onto Green Rd.

Continue on Green Rd. approximately 3.5 miles to 9655 Green Rd. on the Left.
